Reading is Life Basically

Whats up people, I'm back. Sorry for the long time away, but I have read three books. The first book was Reign of the Earth, so apparently my curse is all in my head. I also read Blood Oath and Shadow Wings by Raye Wagner. These are the first two books of the Darkest Drae trilogy, and I am eagerly waiting the third book which comes out on June 30th. I was pleasantly surprised by these books, and especially the second book. I think that in a lot of romances with dark characters there tends to be an abusive element that the author overlooks. For example being abused by someone and then just going with it because their abuser was in a bad place or "had no choice" etc. However Raye Wagner does a great job of addressing abuse in her books. The main character doesn't immediately go to her abuser like omg I forgive you ooo i love you so much blah blah blah. Instead she doesn't trust him, she doesn't want to be with him, she doesn't throw herself into his arms, and I think that is really important. This aspect of not just accepting the abuse is one of the reasons I gave the book 5 stars instead of 4 like the first book. I love this aspect of the book as much as I love the characters. Each one has their own unique ideas and personalities that are constantly changing and progressing. This is honestly one of my favorite book trilogies in a while, and I just want the third book to come out already. Okay that is all for now. What's up peeps? I don't know if you have yet to venture into the world of Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo, or if you have already immersed yourself in the adventures of Audrey Rose and Thomas, but let me tell you this series has ended far too quickly for me. I recently finished the fourth and final book of the quadrology, Capturing the Devil , and this book is amazing. Between Maniscalo's eye for detail and her expertly executed plot twists, this book kept me on my toes the entire time. I was quite literally at the point where I would drop the book because I needed just a moment to either squeal into a pillow like a girl who just got asked out by her biggest crush, or cover my face in shame for the amount of empathy and emotions I felt for Audrey Rose and Thomas. This series has stolen my heart and nestled itself right near the top of the list containing my all-time favorite book series. It has murder and mayhem, mysteries, plot twists, diversity, and romance.

November Update

It is finally November my fellow readers. Halloween and the glorious month of October are over. It has been about two weeks since my last post I believe and I have news for you. Time for a post Halloween bookhaul and reading update. Starting with the bookhaul. This Monday the 29th of October I went to Barnes and Noble and bought several books. On top of that I also picked up the final book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Mass when it was released on the 23rd. At Barnes and Noble the books I got were 1. O M G!

I JUST FINISHED ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS AND OMG IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING. I wish I could forget everything I read and read it again just so I could experience it all over. I loved the authors writing style, and it was one of the most relatable books I have ever read in my life. Well relatable for me I have no idea if it would be relatable for you guys. But I loved it so much. It covers some really important topics too like anxiety, depression, and suicide. I think Zappia covers them in a really masterful way. Zappia doesn't only focus on them and lose the story, but she masterfully weaves the problems into her story through her characters lives giving a good message on how to deal with these mental issues. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I was enamored with it the whole way through and would definitely recommend it. I plan on checking out the rest of Zappia's books as well which are Children of Hypnos which is a story she writes on WattPad and Made You Up. Also I really want
