I Feel Emotional

So guys it has been a hot minute since I made a new post, but I have read sooo many books, seven and a half to be specific. I finished Royally Bad by Nora Flite, and holy crap was it bad. I do not reccomend this book. Not at all. The story was bad, the relationship unrealistic, the characters shallow, and overall just some cheap romance. Next thing I read was Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I really enjoyed this book, and I read it in preparation for the movie that will be released later this year. I don't really have much to say on this book. I can't think of anything super bad I didn't like and I can't think about anything I really liked either. I would recommend to give it a read though. Mainly because books are always better than the movie. Finally the best books I have read in a while. The books that made me super emotional. I read the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova. The series consists of five books all of which are magical. I don't cry a lot when I re

Reading is Life Basically

Whats up people, I'm back. Sorry for the long time away, but I have read three books. The first book was Reign of the Earth, so apparently my curse is all in my head. I also read Blood Oath and Shadow Wings by Raye Wagner. These are the first two books of the Darkest Drae trilogy, and I am eagerly waiting the third book which comes out on June 30th. I was pleasantly surprised by these books, and especially the second book. I think that in a lot of romances with dark characters there tends to be an abusive element that the author overlooks. For example being abused by someone and then just going with it because their abuser was in a bad place or "had no choice" etc. However Raye Wagner does a great job of addressing abuse in her books. The main character doesn't immediately go to her abuser like omg I forgive you ooo i love you so much blah blah blah. Instead she doesn't trust him, she doesn't want to be with him, she doesn't throw herself into his arms, an

June 16th BookHaul

What's up reader peeps? I have another book haul for you today. I received one box of purchases from BookOutlet and I also perused a different Half Price Books for more anthropology finds. I was actually kind of disappointed in BookOutlet with this package because a lot of the books were bent, and I don't mean the paper backs. The hardbacks were bent too, and I'm like how do you even do that, but for all I know it was the shipping company so I am not going to dwell on it. The first book in my BookOutlet haul is Spindle's End by Robin Mckinley, and the second book also by Robin Mckinley is The Blue Sword . I have read both of these books before when I was in 6th grade, and I remember absolutely loving them which is why I have now purchased copies to keep. The other books I got are The Midnight Star by Marie Lu which is the third book in the young elites trilogy, A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares by  Krystal Sutherland, The Siren by Kiera Cass, When Dimple met

June 14th BookHaul!

Greetings fellow bibliophiles, I do believe I have discovered a curse. Every time I say what book I am currently reading on goodreads I either do not finish it because I start other books or I take forever to read it. This theory requires further testing, and I will update you as I discover if my hypothesis is true. In other news I finished Marked by Jenny Martin yesterday. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, but honestly I probably should have gone with 3, and I might change it. One of the reasons for this possible rating change is that after thinking about it more it seems that the characters didn't progress fluidly. They seemed to jump from one state of being to another with no real reason or realistic time required for these changes to happen. However, I could be wrong because it has been about two years since I read the first book in this duology, Tracked , and I have probably forgotten some stuff. More importantly I also did a book haul yesterday. The total came out to be around 1

Persephone and Hades

Hello fellow bookaholics, lately I have been super into books on Persephone and Hades. I don't know why I just have been. Since I last posted I have read four books. The first book I finished was For the Love of Hades by Sasha Summers, and I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. For the Love of Hades is the actually the second book in a trilogy, but you don't need to read the first book to understand the second. The next books I read are called the Seed trilogy , and I have linked the first book in the series Seed Volume One. They are written by M.M. Kin, and I gave all of them a 4 out of 5 stars. I liked the trilogy a lot, and it followed Persephone from birth to marriage. I highly recommend the trilogy, but be warned the trilogy does have several adult scenes. Other than those books I am still continuing to read Reign the Earth, but I am only about 30 pages in unfortunately. That is all for now peace out, and if you have any good Persephone/Hades reads let me know.

June 11th 2018 Book Haul Hype!

Hi everyone, I just received one of my packages from BookOutlet today, and therefore have a book haul for you guys. I themed this book haul as more children's books than anything else. So here we go. Watership Down by Richard Adams, Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne, The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill, How to Train Your Dragon The Complete Book of Dragons A Guide to Dragon Species by Cressida Cowell (wow that one was a mouthful), and a hard cover copy of The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. I already have all of the books of Bayern series in paper back, but I wanted to start getting them in hardback as well. For those of you who are unaware Goose Girl is the first book in the quadrology. I first read these books when I was in 6th grade and have reread them many times since. They are by far one of my favorite middle grade series, and I gave them all 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some great middle grade stories. Peace out and have a great day.

Reign of the Earth

Whats up just a quick check in.  I finished the Persephone trilogy by Kaitlin Bevis. I liked it, but it wasn't super wow and amazing. I wanted a bit more romance if I'm being honest, and then there was the whole problem with some of the characters being really similiar. It wasn't bad though and while I won't reread it ever I don't regret reading it the first time. The next book I will be reading is Reign of the Earth by A. C. Gaughen. I have had this book on my shelf since it came out, and I recently went to a signing by the author. Well actually my mother went to the signing for me because I was scheduled to work that day, but from what she said the author was very cool. The book is about two kingdoms one that controls the elements and another that cannot who have always been hating each other. The elemental princess agrees to marry the prince of the other country in order to get peace. However, her husband ins't as honest she believed he would be. Or at least

WinterHouse Equals Amazing

Hey guys sorry I wasn't able to post yesterday. I woke up an hour before work got ready for that, and then afterwards I went to Walmart and made tons of cookies. However, I did get some reading done yesterday, finished three books actually. I finished Winterhouse and absolutely loved it. I am giving it a five out of five stars. You can read my review of it on goodreads at this link . In other news I also purchased several books on my Kindle Oasis which I am still loving. I bought the Persephone trilogy by Kaitlin Bevis, Neverland Wars, which is currently free for all kindle users, and the Air Awakened series. The other two books I read yesterday were the first two books of the Persephone trilogy, and so far I am enjoying them. My main fault with the trilogy at the moment is that a lot of the characters seem very similar to each other and they don't all seem to have their own unique voices. Anyways I have to get ready for work, so peace out and happy reading.

WinterHouse Part 1

I am 111 pages into this book and loving it. It has a magical element to it that I really didn't expect. I do have one problem with the book though. I love the writing, love the characters, love the location, but it has pictures. I do love the pictures, but they are placed so weirdly. They will be over 1 or 2 pages sometimes, and it wouldn't be a problem except they interrupt a sentence. Then I find myself having to flip back to reread the beginning of the sentence. It isn't that major, but it is a bit more tedious and probably could have been better planned. Overall I am loving this book, and I highly recommend it. At this rate I am thinking of a 4 or 5 out of 5 stars.

Quick Update

Hey this is just a quick update because I totally forgot all about what I would be reading next after I finished the amazing work of art that Eliza and Her Monsters is. I am currently undecided on what I will be reading next, but I am in the mood for something kind of mysteryish. I think I will be reading  Winterhouse  by Ben Gutterson or Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. Winterhouse I described in my earlier bookhaul post a little bit, and Stalking Jack the Ripper is a book I have had on my tbr shelf for a while. I tried starting it at one point, but just wasn't in the mood. Now I think I might just be ready to give it another go. I will do another post on what I am reading with a short synopsis once I decide. Have fun living life.

O M G!

I JUST FINISHED ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS AND OMG IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING. I wish I could forget everything I read and read it again just so I could experience it all over. I loved the authors writing style, and it was one of the most relatable books I have ever read in my life. Well relatable for me I have no idea if it would be relatable for you guys. But I loved it so much. It covers some really important topics too like anxiety, depression, and suicide. I think Zappia covers them in a really masterful way. Zappia doesn't only focus on them and lose the story, but she masterfully weaves the problems into her story through her characters lives giving a good message on how to deal with these mental issues. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I was enamored with it the whole way through and would definitely recommend it. I plan on checking out the rest of Zappia's books as well which are Children of Hypnos which is a story she writes on WattPad and Made You Up. Also I really want

June 7th 2018 Bookhaul

Hey guys I am finally back from work. Okay so tbh I got off work at eight and then spent an hour at Barnes and Noble. While there I mainly perused the children section, but I also glanced at the young adult section which is why I ended up buying three books instead of the zero I had planned to buy. I bought two books from the kids section and one from the ya. My purchases were Winterhouse by Ben Gutterson, a signed copy of Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate, and Smoke in the Sun by Renee Andieh. Smoke in the Sun is actually the sequal to Flame in the Mist. It is set in an Asian inspired world with magic and war and a main character who pretends to be someone else, and who doesn't love books like that. Terrible description I know that is why I linked the goodreads page. Out of those three I will probably end up reading Winterhouse first. The description of the Winterhouse makes me think of The Westing Game which was one of my favorite mysteries as a child. It was masterfully written

Can I Just Read Please?!?

Hey guys. I have to work today which actually sucks because all I want to do is read and game. I will be starting a new book today probably in the car. I will be reading Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. It is a story about a shy girl who writes a popular web comic. Only a few people know that she is the one who writes it, and she wants to keep it that way. One day a new student arrives at her school and he turns out to be one of the most popular fanfic writers for her web comic.  I've been really wanting to read this book for a while, so I am pretty excited about finally having it. Peace out.

Winter Wolf Part 2

Okay guys I have officially finished Winter Wolf. It turned out getting a bit better, and for a cheesy paranormal romance it wasn't completely terrible. So in the end I gave it a three out of five stars. It probably isn't something I would ever reread, and I'm not sure if I will continue the series yet. However, it wasn't terrible. It had some nice character development, a good relationship to follow, and there were some parts that made me smile. However, it didn't really have the depth that I look for in the books that I read. The plot and characters were obvious, and I basically knew what was going to happen from page one. Overall the story was cliche, and it wasn't something you should read if you are looking for depth, but if you are looking for an easy cheesy romance then I would 10/10 recommend.

Winter Wolf

So long story short I read like 6 pages of zer0es and just wasn't feeling in the mood for that type of book, so I started Winter Wolf by Rachel M. Raithby instead. So far the best thing I can liken it to is all those cheesy werewolf books on Wattpad. I will say it has much better grammar than most of those though. I am 12 percent into the book, and so far I rate it somewhere in between 1.5-2 stars. It just seems to be lacking something at the moment, but who knows maybe it will get better as I read on. Right now though its as cliche as any other werewolf/shifter book you could read on Wattpad, and I'm glad I got it on sale.

Pestilence: The Four Horsemen

So I just finished Pestilence by Laura Thalassa, and it was pretty great. I ended up giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending and the characters. While I don't exactly approve of the captive falls in love with her captor trope, I think Thalassa did a pretty good job of writing it, and making it seem realistic and not totally terrible. It did have some intense adult scenes, but that is to be expected from a New Adult book, and you can obviously just skip them for the most part. I would definitely recommend this book. Now its time for some grilled cheese and then I will start Zeroes by Chuck Wendig. Peace out peeps.

Book Buying is an Addiction!

Hey guys, Rose here. Lately I have been buying a lot of books, and by a lot I mean at least 5 a week. I think I may have an addiction to be honest, but I have always wanted my own library and now I am making that dream come true. My latest big buy was actually a Kindle Oasis. I just got it in the mail today, and I am loving it. I also purchased a really cute little pink bag to carry it whenever I go out. I plan to mainly bring my kindle to places for reading when I am not at home, and I will read all my paper books at home. Going back to my book buying problem, it wouldn't be that much of a problem to buy all these books if I was actually reading them. Unfortunately I have been in a bit of a reading slump lately, and just have not been reading as much as I want to. I did manage to finish a book yesterday called Orphan Monster Spy by Matt Killeen, and I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars. I hope to finish a review for it on goodreads soon. Right now I am reading Pestilence the first book
