Animal Crossing Diaries: Entry #1 A New Beginning

This just might work I mused to myself as I stepped off of the wooden dock onto a grass field, and headed towards the center of the island in search for Nook. I had just completed the twelve hour-long flight, moving me from my previous home to a deserted island, that has yet to be named, because of a whim and a particularly bad tarot reading. A questionable choice indeed, one could argue I might just be going insane with my old age.      "This is gonna be great!" I hear someone shout behind me. The voice was relatively masculine, and since I didn't believe it was Timmy, Tommy, or the two birds that were in charge of air fair that left one of my new neighbors. "Think about it Pashmina, my workouts are gonna be insane on this type of terrain. I am going to be the fittest bird out there just watch." Oh my, a jock, that should be interesting.      "Yep sounds great Sterling," the female goat, Pashmina apparently, responded as she sipped on a leftover

Book Review: Capturing the Devil

Image
What's up peeps? I don't know if you have yet to venture into the world of Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo, or if you have already immersed yourself in the adventures of Audrey Rose and Thomas, but let me tell you this series has ended far too quickly for me. I recently finished the fourth and final book of the quadrology, Capturing the Devil , and this book is amazing. Between Maniscalo's eye for detail and her expertly executed plot twists, this book kept me on my toes the entire time. I was quite literally at the point where I would drop the book because I needed just a moment to either squeal into a pillow like a girl who just got asked out by her biggest crush, or cover my face in shame for the amount of empathy and emotions I felt for Audrey Rose and Thomas. This series has stolen my heart and nestled itself right near the top of the list containing my all-time favorite book series. It has murder and mayhem, mysteries, plot twists, diversity, and romance.

A Boo-tiful Bookhaul

Hey guys, time for another book haul. The theme for this book haul is spooky middle grade reads. I bought all of these books at barnes and nobles, and spent around 90 dollars for six books. You may recognize some of these titles from the list of scaretacular reads I chose for this October. 1. Goodnight Goon A Petrifying Parody by Michael Rex 2. The Hotel Between by Sean Easley - Signed 3. Small Spaces by Katherine Arden 4. The Dollhouse Murders by Betty Res Wright - 35th Aniversary Edition 5. City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab 6. The Witching Hours Book One: The Vampire Knife by Jack Henseleit I chose most of these books for their spooky theme. Goodnight Goon was more of a sentimental choice though as my mother used to read Goodnight Moon to me often when I was a child. The Hotel Between isn't a scary read, but I have been wanting to pick it up and I couldn't resist when I saw a signed copy at the store. Quick update on what I am currently reading. I started Muse

The Grand Return

This title is extremely misleading. There is nothing grand about this, but it is in fact a return. Hello everyone, I have been reading a ton of books recently, so I have decided to restart my blog. To begin with lets discuss the amazing books I have read the most recently, Stalking Jack the Ripper , Hunting Prince Dracula , and Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalo. Stalking Jack the Ripper is a book I have owned for a long time, and I never got around to reading it. Now that I have I regret not starting it sooner, but I am also glad I didn't because I would have had to wait longer for the other books to come out. I gave Stalking Jack the Ripper 4 out of 5 stars, and its successors both got 5 out of 5 stars. You have probably realized this from my previous posts, but I am not that big of a fan of writing super analytic reviews. When it comes to books I like to read for fun. It feels like I lose something from the book if I try to analyze every little detail. I like reading to s

July 25th Book Haul!

Hello friends, as promised I am delivering to you a bookhaul. This will have both books from a bookoutlet haul and some books I purchased from my local Barnes and Noble. From Barnes and Nobles I purchased Never Fade by Alexander Bracken, The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell, and The Evolution of Claire by Tess Sharpe. I have already finished The Evolution of Claire and I enjoyed it a lot, mainly because of the dinosaurs. One of the main things I enjoyed about the book was that it really made Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom make more sense. Claire seemed to randomly have a total 180 in the movie, but after the reading the book the transition became more logical. The list of books I got from Book Outlet is much larger, starting with Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld we then have The Noble Servant by Melanie Dickerson, The Cosmic Serpant by Jeremy Narby, Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch, The Riddle of Rosetta Stone by James Cross Giblin, Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake, Alice in Wond
