July 25th Book Haul!

Hello friends, as promised I am delivering to you a bookhaul. This will have both books from a bookoutlet haul and some books I purchased from my local Barnes and Noble. From Barnes and Nobles I purchased Never Fade by Alexander Bracken, The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell, and The Evolution of Claire by Tess Sharpe. I have already finished The Evolution of Claire and I enjoyed it a lot, mainly because of the dinosaurs. One of the main things I enjoyed about the book was that it really made Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom make more sense. Claire seemed to randomly have a total 180 in the movie, but after the reading the book the transition became more logical. The list of books I got from Book Outlet is much larger, starting with Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld we then have The Noble Servant by Melanie Dickerson, The Cosmic Serpant by Jeremy Narby, Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch, The Riddle of Rosetta Stone by James Cross Giblin, Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake, Alice in Wonderland High by Rachel Shane, The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski, and finally The Tiger's Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera. Out of my Book Outlet haul I am probably most excited to read Afterworlds and The Tiger's Daughter. I want to note that The Noble Servant is the third book in a series of retellings, but to my knowledge they can be read separate. Frost Like Night is also the third book in the Snow Like Ashes series, and Girl of Nightmares is the second book in Kendare Blake's Anna duology. I  have not mentioned purchasing the first book in the duology because I purchased it on my kindle, and I tend to not make posts on what I buy on kindle. I have not read the first book yet, but I hope to get to it soon; the same goes with the Snow Like Ashes series. I believe Snow Like Ashes is a trilogy and if that is correct I own all three books, but I could be mistaken. That is all for now, sorry for not posting in a while. Peace out book nerds.

Book Review: Capturing the Devil

What's up peeps? I don't know if you have yet to venture into the world of Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo, or if you have already immersed yourself in the adventures of Audrey Rose and Thomas, but let me tell you this series has ended far too quickly for me. I recently finished the fourth and final book of the quadrology, Capturing the Devil , and this book is amazing. Between Maniscalo's eye for detail and her expertly executed plot twists, this book kept me on my toes the entire time. I was quite literally at the point where I would drop the book because I needed just a moment to either squeal into a pillow like a girl who just got asked out by her biggest crush, or cover my face in shame for the amount of empathy and emotions I felt for Audrey Rose and Thomas. This series has stolen my heart and nestled itself right near the top of the list containing my all-time favorite book series. It has murder and mayhem, mysteries, plot twists, diversity, and romance.

November Update

It is finally November my fellow readers. Halloween and the glorious month of October are over. It has been about two weeks since my last post I believe and I have news for you. Time for a post Halloween bookhaul and reading update. Starting with the bookhaul. This Monday the 29th of October I went to Barnes and Noble and bought several books. On top of that I also picked up the final book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Mass when it was released on the 23rd. At Barnes and Noble the books I got were 1. Girl at the Grave by Teri Bailey Black 2. A signed copy of Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak 3. The 10th Anniversary Edition of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare 4. A signed copy of Vengeful by V.E. Schwab 5. Reunited by Colleen Houck I also picked up some books at Target during my haitus and they were 1. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare 2. A signed copy of Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Mass 3. A signed copy of Broken Things by Lauren Oliver Next up on the agend

June 7th 2018 Bookhaul

Hey guys I am finally back from work. Okay so tbh I got off work at eight and then spent an hour at Barnes and Noble. While there I mainly perused the children section, but I also glanced at the young adult section which is why I ended up buying three books instead of the zero I had planned to buy. I bought two books from the kids section and one from the ya. My purchases were Winterhouse by Ben Gutterson, a signed copy of Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate, and Smoke in the Sun by Renee Andieh. Smoke in the Sun is actually the sequal to Flame in the Mist. It is set in an Asian inspired world with magic and war and a main character who pretends to be someone else, and who doesn't love books like that. Terrible description I know that is why I linked the goodreads page. Out of those three I will probably end up reading Winterhouse first. The description of the Winterhouse makes me think of The Westing Game which was one of my favorite mysteries as a child. It was masterfully written
